Get Organized in 2015: Top 5 Products for Organizing Your Closet

Are you trying to get organized in 2015? There is no better place to start than your closet. It’s probably full of things you haven’t worn, or maybe you didn’t even know you had. I recently cleaned out my closet and got rid of 3 full garbage bags full of clothes, bags and jewelry, and it feels so good.

If you’re looking to clean out your closet in the coming months, try some of these products to help make your closet feel like your own little shopping spree. Here are five top products for organizing your closet.

1. Huggable Hangers

These hangers are great for a couple of reasons. First, they’re slim so they save space in small closets where space is limited. Second, they’re lined with velvet, so anything you hang on them won’t slip and fall off like plastic or wood. Buy these and you can cut off all those annoying dangly things form your sweaters and kiss them goodbye.

Having all of the same hangers in your closet will create a streamlined look. All of your clothes will hang at the same height and create a neat row all the way down the rod.

2. Flip Fold

This little gadget will help you get the perfect department store fold every time to keep your drawers and shelves organized and uniform. One of my favorite organizers, Alejandra, uses this to fold her man’s t-shirts perfectly in the drawer shown above.

3. Hanging Sweater Organizer

These are great for times when drawer space is limited. About a foot of closet rod can hold a dresser’s worth of clothes. Talk about maximizing space! Use these for jeans or (obviously) sweaters that are too delicate to hang. I also use one of these in a creative way that I’ll share with you in an upcoming post.

4. Three-Bag Laundry Sorter

This small purchase can make a big difference–especially if you’re a laundromat-goer like myself. This contraption helps you pre-sort your laundry for ahead of tim, making laundry day a little less painful. If you have a large walk-in closet like me, keep it inside so you don’t have to look at your laundry while trying to relax in bed.

5. Shelf Dividers

Beat the classic top-shelf avalanche and get some of these Lynk Vela Shelf Dividers from Bed Bath and Beyond. They’ll keep your handbags from toppling over and your sweater towers from crashing down on top of your head. An essential for those under 5’4″ with limited lower-level storage face. #thestruggle
