I began my journey to a more organized life in the fall of 2013 when I moved to the Capital Region to start my life with my husband, Matthew. At the time, we didn’t have much to fill up our tiny apartment, but as we started to grow our lives together, the stuff began to pile up. So much so, that we only lasted one year in that small apartment. A lot has changed since then, and we’re constantly rebuilding organizing systems in our house as our life changes to help live the most efficient life possible.
I knew from the very beginning that I always wanted to make the space around me beautiful and clean. Since moving out of that first apartment I have learned that when my house is orderly, I can truly enjoy life–and it’s my goal to spread that feeling around to everyone. I began helping my friends and family become more organized, and realized that I have a real knack for helping people build spaces they love, and live more productive lives.
I take a very realistic and cost-effective approach to organizing. I don’t aim to make every space I organize look like it belongs on a Pinterest board. Instead, I aim to make each space stay organized, and work long-term for my client. It should look nice, but it should also be easy to maintain and make life easier and more efficient.
I like to tailor the spaces I organize to the person or family who lives in it. Like make-up? I can work with that. Want to go minimalist? Let’s do it. Have collections of items you want to keep and display? I can help with that! I believe that being organized is not the destination, living a more productive, anxiety-free and efficient life is the goal – getting organized is the vehicle that gets you there.
I believe in building a home you love. Your house is where you spend most of your time. It’s the place you come to at the end of a long day to relax and do the things you love most in life. How can you fully be at home if you have piles of stuff cluttering up the space that dedicated for you to live your life? I believe in making your home an oasis, one pile of paper at a time.
No Mess, Less Stress
I’ve always been prone to anxiety and stress. It may be part of my Italian heritage, because my Mom, sisters, and Grandmother all suffer form the same ailment, but whatever the reason, I’ve been finding ways to deal with it my entire life. Since moving away from my family and support system, I’ve had to find ways to reduce the amount of anxiety I feel in my own way, and nothing has helped me like organizing.
Not only do I love the actual process of organizing (to me there truly is nothing like tackling a mess and turning it into something beautiful) but being an organized an orderly person has helped me be more productive and relaxed. Some people live their lives in a constant state of anxiety, or have so much stuff they don’t even know everything they have, and I don’t have it in me to be one of those people. I never have, I never will.
It worked for me! Let me know how I can help you. Let’s work together.
